Welcome!
I am an Assistant Professor of Sociology at the University of Texas at San Antonio and a Faculty Affiliate in the Population Research Center and Center on Aging and Population Sciences at the University of Texas at Austin. I am studying health inequalities and family dynamics over the life course.
One line of my research focuses on the social determinants of well-being, particularly among older adults. The other strand of my research investigates the changing patterns of romantic relationships in diverse social contexts undergoing significant transitions.
My work has been published or is forthcoming in Demography, Social Forces, The Gerontologist, Journals of Gerontology: Social Sciences, Journal of Health and Social Behavior, Demographic Research, and other peer-reviewed outlets (Google Scholar). Additionally, I serve on the editorial boards of Population Research and Policy Review, Health & Social Care in the Community, and INQUIRY.
